It's best to book your newborn session while you are still pregnant. Once your baby arrives you will be very busy caring for them and the window of opportunity to capturing newborn photos can quickly pass. Babies are best photographed within their first 14 days as this is when they are likely to be most sleepy and it will be possible to capture those curled ''womb'' like poses. As they get older they will become more alert and less ''bendy''.
When you book in your session your due date will be pencilled in and I will then ask you to contact me once baby has arrived to comfirm a session date.
Newborn sessions are held in the comfort of your home, taking away the stress of travelling with a new baby. Having had 2 children of my own I know very well how big a task it can be to leave the house with a newborn. This way parents can sit back, enjoy a hot cuppa and relax for a couple of hours while I take gentle care of your baby during their first photo session.
Your newborn session can take 2-3 hours depending on how sleepy and settled baby is. This allows plenty of time for any breaks required to see to baby's needs and also time to include parent and sibling shotsif required. The session will be very relaxed with no pressure so if baby needs feeding, changing or even a little cuddle then the session simply stops until baby is happy to continue.
No, apart from baby milk and nappies. All props and accessories will be provided for the session.
There are a couple of things that you can do to help towards a smooth session.
1) Please feed baby just before the session to help setting them to sleep.
2) Please have baby undressed (leave nappy on) and wrapped in a blanket before the session.
3) Please keep your home warm so baby is snug during their session. They are used to being warm inside mummy's tummy so the cold can be unsettling for them.
4) If you are breastfeeding please try to avoid comsuming high amounts of caffeine, spicy foods, fish or ''gassy'' vegetables the day before to avoid any possible discomfort for baby's tummy.
Yes absolutely, I encourage parents & siblings to be included providing they are happy to get involved. This is such a special time for you and your family and it's lovely to record it where possible.
For Baby: Your baby will be posed in fabric wraps which will be provided so there's no need to worry about organising an outfit for them.
For Siblings: Something simple with no patterns or logos. For boys, blue denim jeans with a plain white tshirt or shirt. For girls a white dress or blue denim jeans/dungarees with white top.
For Parents: Again nothing too fussy so simple blue denim jeans and a plain white top/shirt or a white dress works well.
A good portion of the session will be used to soothe and settle your baby to sleep. However not every baby likes to sleep and that's ok. The session will be led by how baby feels and capturing awake photos are just as special as the sleepy ones. Those precious little newborn eyes are just the sweetest.
Following your newborn session a private viewing date/time will be agreed. This is usually around 2 weeks from your session. I will revisit you at your home and show you a slideshow of approx 20-30 images. You can then choose your favourite images. Additional products and wall art will be also available to order at this time.

I look forward to capturing some memories for you.
There is no set time on when you should book a photographer for your wedding. However dates do get booked up quickly so to avoid dissapointment book as early as you can.
My approach to wedding photography is relaxed, friendly and unobtrusive to capture your day as it naturally unfolds. Although there will undoubtedly be moments that you will stand and pose for the camera, it is the more natural moments that define my style. I quietly observe and decreetly capture key moments from your day.
Yes, if you would like them. We would discuss the required group photos at a pre-wedding meeting and a list will be recorded.
The number of images produced depends on factors such as the amount of coverage you opt for. There is no magic number however a typical 8hour wedding would include approximately 500 images.
Your images can take upto 6-8 weeks following your wedding day.
Yes. I have full business insurance.
Only due to extremely circumstances would I not be able to attend your wedding.
Yes, I have 2 of everything
